BARAMULLA, JULY 19: In view of the inclement weather forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, Srinagar, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr. S.F Hamid has issued a weather advisory urging the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions from July 19 to 23, 2026.
The advisory particularly cautions residents of Tangmarg, Gulmarg, Uri, Boniyar, Shirpora Gavgrain, Chandoosa, Dandmoh, Hajibal, Shumluran, Kalantra, Rampur Rajpur, Shutloo, Galibal and Rafiabad, especially those living along the banks of rivers and streams, to stay away from flood-prone areas and avoid crossing flooded roads or water channels, as these may pose serious risks to life.
Tourists and travellers intending to visit Tangmarg, Gulmarg, Shirpora Gavgrain, Uri and Boniyar have also been advised to verify road and weather conditions before undertaking their journey and to avoid venturing into vulnerable locations.
The District Administration has directed all concerned departments to remain on high alert, keep men and machinery in readiness, and ensure prompt response to any emergency during the advisory period.
The public has been advised to strictly follow official advisories and contact the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC), DC Office Baramulla, or the Police Control Room, Baramulla, in case of any emergency. The administration has appealed to citizens to cooperate with the authorities and exercise utmost caution until weather conditions improve.
