People near embankments advised to stay alert, not panic
Srinagar, July 23 (GNS): The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir has said that rising water levels in River Jhelum are being monitored closely by field teams.
Control Rooms set up at the Divisional and district levels are functioning round the clock to coordinate preventive and remedial measures, he said in an official statement to GNS.
The administration has advised residents living near embankments to remain alert and not panic.
“People are requested to maintain close vigil, follow advisories issued by the local administration, and contact ICCC Srinagar at 0194-2740003 for any assistance or support,” the advisory added. (GNS)
