Woman Killed in Srinagar Road Accident

Srinagar, Oct 17 (GNS): A doctor allegedly slapped an attendant after he approached him with X-ray of his cousin who was injured in an accident at Lalpora area of Kunzer Tangmarg.

As per reports reaching GNS an accident took place in the Lalpora area in which one Muneer Ahmad was injured. He was rushed to Primary Health Center Kunzer by his cousin, Ashiq Ahmad Khawaja.

After first aid, an X-ray was done. “There was no doctor and I was directed to consult Dr Iqbal who was in his vehicle. As I approached him, he slapped me and threw the X-ray away,” Ashiq Ahmad told GNS.

The locals demanded action against the doctor. They also urged administration to ensure that doctors are available in the PHC on time.

When contacted concerned Block Medical Officer Dr Rukiya told GNS that action as per rules will be initiated if the doctor was found at fault. “His one day salary has been ordered to be deducted and inquiry will be conducted to see what led to the incident.” (GNS)
