A parent’s love is whole no matter how many times divided – Robert Brault

Even if the whole world resorts to hatred, envy and rift, the only thing that certainly will remain constant is parental love and care. Parents are the epitome of love, mercy, kindness and compassion. A quintessence of selfless creatures, which at first give life to us, and then sacrifice everything from comfort to money, for our well-being. Particularly, for this reason, the creator of this universe has accredited “the highest stature among fellow humans” to parents. If there is anything which deserves the highest degree of honour, and privilege, it irrefragably are the parents. A father is a gateway which leads you to the heavens while as under the feet of a mother, lie the heavens. Both the parents are unmatchable who no other person can be replaced with. The world would be loveless and lifeless, if parents were not here. The infinite sacrifices of parents who, during the whole of their lives, abandon their creature comforts, put blood, sweat and tears only to nourish us in the best possible way. By exposing themselves to difficulties and asperities, they aim to protect us in every possible and impossible way. Abdullah Ibn ‘Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) saw a Yemeni man going around the Kaaba in Makkah while carrying his mother on his back. This man said to Abdullah Ibn ‘Umar, “I am like a tame camel for her! I have carried her more than she carried me. Do you think I have paid her back, Oh Ibn ‘Umar?” Abdullah Ibn ‘Umar replied, “No, not even one contraction [during childbirth]!” Given the changing scenario of our lives and a shift towards materialism, the love and honour for parents is dwindling on and off. Let’s pledge to treat our parents in the best of ways. Paradise is a step away, go and secure your berth. Remember it is now or never!
