While the situation seems quite under control now, the threat of a third wave of Coronavirus is looming large amidst speculations and warnings from the medical experts. As of July 13, Jammu and Kashmir reported the lowest spike in 114 days, recording less than 150 positive cases and a single death. The ease in the situation is encouraging but it should not land us in a “comfort zone”. The strong need for “Covid appropriate behaviour” is to be taken seriously by all and sundry. The administration also is taking requisite steps to ensure strict adoption of CAB which could act as a shield against the third wave in offing. For a while now, almost all the government offices have resorted to the normal functioning which necessitates the Covid appropriate behaviour of employees and common masses.Wearing of masks, maintaining social distancing, and following other Standard operating procedures (SOP’S) in letter and spirit. Given the situation, the administration has constituted two separate teams of officers to monitor the Covid19 appropriate behaviour in government offices. The said teams will conduct surprise visits to the offices and  violations, if any found will be reported to the Government administration department(GAD) for further action. Even so, there is a desperate need to regulate CAB in tourist destinations, hospitals, market places and other institutions. The tourist season is in bloom however there stand more chances of Covid 19 SOP violations. Therefore, the administration needs to keep proper vigil in such crowded places. Let’s be cautious and follow CAB if only we want to keep the virus away.
