Srinagar August 1 (GNS): The second non-local worker injured in Friday evening’s terrorist attack in Kellam area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district has succumbed to injuries at SKIMS this morning, officials said.

Officials told GNS that terrorists fired upon two civilians in Kellam. One of them died on the spot, while the other was shifted to GMC Anantnag, from where he was referred to SKIMS for advanced treatment. He later succumbed to injuries.

With this, the death toll in the incident has risen to two. Both the deceased have been identified as Bopinder and Deepak from Chhattisgarh.

Following the attack, security has been beefed up across Kulgam and adjoining areas of south Kashmir and Srinagar. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track the attackers.
