Srinagar, Oct 7: Government Medical College Anantnag has secured ‘No Objection Certificate’ from Kashmir University for starting of Degree Courses in various Paramedical Branches through Jammu and Kashmir Paramedical Council.
In a statement received here, the J&K Paramedical Council, GMC Jammu, has said that the Paramedical Branches will have an overall intake capacity of 80 seats and B.Sc. Nursing Course to have an intake capacity of 30 seats.

College Anantnag, as per the statement, include B.Sc in Medical Lab Technology, B.Sc Operation Theatre Technology, B.Sc Renal Dialysis Technology, B.Sc Radiography Technology, B.Sc
Anesthesia Technology.
Dr. Nasib Chand Digra President J&K Paramedical Council & Principal Government Medical College Jammu, as per the statement, said that the proposal for starting these courses was submitted by J&K Paramedical Council to the Administrative Department and the State Administrative Council approved the proposal in the month of October 2019.
Digra, as per the statement, congratulated Principal Govt. Medical College Anantnag Dr. Showkat Jeelani and the team of J&K Paramedical Council for the achievement and specially thanked Financial Commissioner Atul Dullo for his unconditional support in starting of these courses.
“These courses will go a long way in catering to the needs of the J&K Health & Medical Education Department”, Digra as per the statement said adding that “J&K Paramedical Council henceforth shall register Diploma in Medical Assistant Course also at par with other Paramedical practitioners of J&K, which will benefit scores of students applying for various Paramedical Jobs in the UT of J&K.”
Dr. Sandeep Singh Registrar J&K Paramedical Council, as per the statement, the J&K Paramedical Council has now secured NOC for starting of B.Sc Paramedical Courses in all Government Medical Colleges of the U.T of J&K.
Singh said that on the directions of Financial Commissioner Health & Medical Education Atal Dullo, J&K Paramedical Council is now working on upgradation of various designated GNM Schools to B.Sc Nursing Colleges.
Dr. A.S.Bhatia Controller Examinations J&K Paramedical Council, as per the statement, said that admission to these courses shall be purely merit base conducted by Board of
Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE).
