Kupwara, Mar 01 (GNS):  An alleged habitual timber smuggler has been detained under stringent Public Safety Act here in this north-Kashmir’s district.

An official told GNS that on the directions of DC Kupwara issued on February 25, a habitual timber smuggler identified as Aijaz Ahmad Khan resident of Haihama, Gutlipora was detained under Public Safely Act.

The accused, as per the official, has four FIRs besides nine different Forest damage cases registered against him since 2010.

The accused has been arrested and deported to Kot Bhalwal jail, the official added. (GNS)
