Jammu, Jan 12: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday issued orders re-designating several IAS officers of the J&K segment of the AGMUT cadre following their promotion to higher scales of the Indian Administrative Service by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

According to Government Order No. 43-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated January 12, 2026 as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the re-designations have been made consequent upon the promotion of the officers to the Higher Administrative Grade (Level-15), Super Time Scale (Level-14) and Selection Grade (Level-13) and their assumption of charge of the respective posts on January 1, 2026.

As per the order, Mr. Sanjeev Verma, IAS (AGMUT:2001) has been designated as Principal Secretary to the Government, Election Department.

Mr. Prasanna Ramaswamy G, IAS (AGMUT:2010) has been designated as Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Tribal Affairs Department, while Mr. Ram Niwas Sharma, IAS (AGMUT:2010) has been designated as Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, School Education Department.

Similarly, Ms. Avny Lavasa, IAS (AGMUT:2013) has been designated as Secretary to the Government, Transport Department. (KNC)
