Srinagar, Aug 2: A six-year-old girl lost her life after accidentally slipping into a stream in the Kulhama area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday evening, officials said.
Officials told news agency JKNS that the incident occurred on Saturday evening, when Sumiya, daughter of John Mohammad, a resident of Kulhama, accidentally fell into a nearby stream.
Locals immediately rescued the child and shifted her to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared her brought dead on arrival.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident, and further proceedings are underway. (JKNS)
