Kashmiri Woman Dies After Road Accident in Delhi; Husband, Son Injured

Kulgam, September 11: A woman from Kraloo Kund area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district died in Delhi after sustaining serious injuries in a road accident, sending shockwaves among her family members, relatives and residents of the area.

The deceased has been identified as Shagufta Jan, wife of Shakil Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Kraloo Kund, Kulgam.

As per reports, Shakil Ahmad Bhat had travelled to Delhi with his family in connection with auto-rickshaw-related work. During their stay in the national capital, the family reportedly met with a road accident, resulting in injuries to Shakil Ahmad Bhat, his wife Shagufta Jan and their son.

Soon after the incident, all three injured persons were shifted to a nearby hospital for specialised medical care. Shagufta Jan, however, reportedly succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment despite the efforts of the attending doctors.

Her husband and son are said to be out of danger and are continuing to receive medical treatment at the hospital, according to the information available so far.

The tragic news of Shagufta Jan’s death reached Kraloo Kund and neighbouring areas, where it triggered an atmosphere of grief and mourning. Family members, relatives, neighbours and local residents expressed deep anguish over the untimely demise and conveyed their sympathies to the bereaved family.

Residents prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and wished a swift recovery to the injured husband and son.

Meanwhile, further details regarding the accident, including the exact circumstances surrounding the incident, are awaited.(KNC)
