Srinagar, Apr 07 (GNS): Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party on Sunday announced candidacies of three senior partymen from Kashmir division to contest upcoming Parliamentary elections.

While the party announced party Chairperson and former Chief Minister of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti as its candidate from Anantnag-Rajouri segment, it on the other hand nominated Youth President Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra from Srinagar and former Member Parliament Fayaz Ahmad Mir from Baramulla segments respectively.

“Party’s Parliamentary Board has announced the candidatures of PDP President @MehboobaMufti for Anantnag-Pir Panchal, Youth Wing President @parawahid for Central Kashmir and former MP @FayazMiroffice for Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency,” reads an ‘X’ post, as per GNS.

Notably, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference have announced Mian Altaf, while Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party Zaffar Iqbal Manhas from Anantnag-Rajouri segment.

With regard to Srinagar segment, the party to formally announce its candidate, before fresh announcement, had been Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party who have nominated Mohammad Ashraf Mir.

From Baramulla segment, it is Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference which have announced candidacy of party Chairperson Sajad Gani Lone and the announcement of Mir Fayaz, with announcement of NC candidate anticipated, things look set for a grueling contest between the parties to secure the strategic seat.
