Authorities shutter down around 52 units in less than ten days

Anantnag, Jul 1: Forest Authorities are continuing with its major crackdown on the illegal band-saw mills in this south Kashmir district even as ten units were sealed on Tuesday last taking the toll to fifty-two in less than ten days.
An official told Kashmir Glory that the teams constituted on the directions of Divisional Forest Officer Feroz Ahmad Chaket, have raided several locations in the district during for over a week now during which fifty-two such units running without any prior permission from the concerned authorities, were sealed on the spot.
The teams, as per the official, are under the supervision of Range Officer Qazigund, Range Officer Harnag, Range Officer Qazigund in latest raids sealed at least ten Units, including seven in Kuthar and two in Qazigund
“All kinds of machinery tools and equipment were sent to custody of respective range offices”, the official said.
The official has meanwhile reiterated that the drive will continue and “all such Units running without any permission will be sealed and their equipments confiscated.”
