Srinagar, Dec 19 (GNS): An eight-year-old girl has sustained critical head injuries after hit by an Army vehicle at Bumhama locality along highway in north-Kashmir’s Kupwara on Saturday evening.
Reports reaching GNS said that a minor girl identified as Muddabirah Ismail daughter of Mohammed Ismail Dar residence Bumhama, came under an Army vehicle – Ashok Leyland Stallion – in the locality resulting in her sustaining critical head injuries.
The girl was removed to sub-District Hospital Kupwara wherefrom she has been referred to a tertiary Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment.
Meanwhile a police official has confirmed the accident to GNS and said that a police team has arrested the erring driver identified as Sepoy Imran of 163 Territorial Army, SIK-LI Battalion even as taking the vehicle into seizure instantly.
“An FIR number 356/2020 has been registered in this regard under sections 279, 337 IPC and further investigations taken”, the official said. (GNS)
