Baramulla, July 27(GNS): MLA Uri, Dr. Sajjad Shafi, on Monday visited Maya village in Boniyar to take stock of the damage caused by a recent cloudburst and flash floods.

According to GNS correspondent, during the visit, the MLA met affected families, reviewed the losses to property and belongings, and assured residents of full administrative support.

Announcing immediate relief, Dr. Shafi said ₹50,000 will be provided to every flood-affected family from his Constituency Development Fund to help them meet urgent requirements.

He expressed solidarity with the victims and said the administration will prioritize restoration of essential services, rehabilitation, and damage assessment in the impacted areas.

Local authorities have been directed to carry out a detailed assessment and ensure that assistance reaches the affected families without delay.

Residents welcomed the announcement and expressed hope for swift relief and restoration work in the village.(GNS)
