Srinagar, Oct 6 (GNS): A mother-son duo besides two persons in mid 20s and a 38-year-old man were among 17 persons who succumbed to novel coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir in last 24-hours, taking the fatality count to 1272 in J&K, officials said on Tuesday.

They said a 75-year-old woman and her 34-year-old son from Dalgate died at CD hospital here, days after they were admitted there, one of the exclusive facilities for the management of covid-19 patients in the Valley.

They said that a 54-year-old man from Bolachipora Srinagar, who was admitted on September 11, died at SKIMS Soura.  

They said that a 65-year-old man from Batamallo Srinagar who was admitted to SKIMS Soura on October 2 died at the hospital.

A 45-year-old woman from Aalikadal Srinagar who was admitted to the SKIMS Soura hospital on 25 September died this evening.

A 74-year-old man from Hazratbal Anantnag also died at tertiary care hospital here, 11 days after he was admitted there.

Also, they said, a 26-year-old man from Kargil died at SKIMS Soura where he was admitted today.

Among others, the other victims from the Valley include a 75-year-old man from Alochibagh Srinagar, a 65-year-old woman from Mir Danter and an 82-year-old from Chogul Handwara.   

Among eight fatalities from Jammu includes a 38-year-old from Rehari Jammu, a 25-year-old woman of Simbliwal Jammu and a 46-year-old Jagti Nagrota.

With these deaths, 1272 people have succumbed to injuries in Jammu and Kashmir including 877 from Valley and 395 from Jammu. (GNS)
