Gurez, Oct 28 (GNS): Stating that new land law was another gift of BJP to people of J&K, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir said that Congress Party rejects the new land laws and vows to fight for protection of rights.

Mir termed betrayal, politics of deceit hallmark of BJP, which is hell bent upon to snatch everything from people of JK and Ladakh by amending and bringing different laws, from time to time.

JKPCC President was addressing a public gathering in Gurez valley of  Bandipora District, today,  where he expressed his grave concern over the new land laws and said Centre Govt is least bothered about the urges and aspirations of the people of J&K and takes one sided and politically motivated  decisions against the wishes of the people.

JKPCC President was accompanied by Vice President and Ex. MLA Haji Abdul Rashid, District President Imtiyaz Parray, Mohd Ismail Lone, Basharat Najar and various other senior Party Leaders.

G.A.Mir described the new land law as an assault on the rights of people and said Congress Party won’t accept such anti J&K decisions by the Centre and resolved to continue its fight against the treachery and exploitation  on the part of BJP.

The new land laws is bound to create unease in the J&K, which has been downgraded into to union territories post abrogation of article 370, people not only in J&K, but in the entire country have realized that BJP is hell bent upon to  implement its agenda undemocratically, unconstitutionally, besides incorporating  different laws from time to time, aiming to change the narratives, Mir told the gathering.

It is another betrayal with people of J&K, earlier the Govt started facilitating outsiders to get jobs through various provisions in the domicile law, now the sale of land to outsiders, at the cost of unique identity and culture of J&K have unfolded the hidden agenda of the BJP. It seems  BJP have taken oath to snatch the rights of people of J&K inorder to serve its vested interests, which has to be defeated, JKPCC President said.

People have vehemently opposed and will continue to reject and fight against the assault on their rights, Mir added and said Congress party will fight for protections of rights of people.

Referring to the Bihar Elections JKPCC President said people of Bihar are all set to give befitting reply to  BJP in the ongoing elections, beating drums  over downgrading of J&K State by Narinder Modi in election rallies won’t neither change the reality, nor the mood of voters  because they ( people of Bihar) have faced the deceitful politics of the later, while having undergone tremendous hardships on account of highest  poverty rate, rise in unemployment, lack of basic facilities, besides having realized that BJP was only doing lip service to them for electoral gains, G.A. Mir said.

Expressing anguish over the backwardness of Gurez Valley, Mir said this beautiful valley has been neglected on all fronts, the tall claims with regard to inclusive development of J&K  have fallen flat, rather people have been deliberately pushed to wall, backwardness of Gurez has increased and it seemed there was no end to hardships confronting people of  this beautiful valley and elsewhere in J&K due to  the wrong polices adopted by the Centre. PCC President said.

I assure people of J&K from this beautiful Gurez valley that Congress Party will remain committed in its resolve to fight for protection of people’s rights, Mir added and urged the Centre Govt to revoke the new land laws forthwith to instill confidence among the people of J&K.

On this occasion Block Congress Committee Gurez submitted a Memorandum addressed to Prime Minister highlighting various issues concerning Gurez valley and its people for their resolution. The Memorandum was submitted through Divisional Magistrate Gurez by JKPCC President and other Leaders.

Those who were present on this occasion included  Umer Jaan, Adv.Raja Ashraf, Block President and other prominent party workers of Gurez. (GNS)
