Srinagar, July 27(GNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday took strong exception to PDP President Mehbooba Mufti’s “Kashmir Ka Toh Banta Hai” remark and accused her of speaking in different tones in Kashmir and New Delhi.

Talking to media persons, Omar Abdullah said, “Does it justify having militancy that here law will not work?”

He demanded that Mehbooba Mufti confess that she spoke wrongly in emotion and apologize for the statement.

“One of her MLAs is saying that it’s an AI-generated video, when we know hundreds of videos have already been circulating on social media of her statement. It’s so disappointing and she should at least apologize this time,” the Chief Minister said.

Omar further said Mehbooba did not apologize earlier for the alliance with the BJP, nor for the events of 2016. “You many times talked about milk and toffee and justified it again and again. Saying that suppressing the protest by force is justified in Kashmir, who will come out here?” he asked.

Taking a swipe at the PDP chief, the CM also said she did not participate in the Jantar Mantar protest for statehood, but went this time for what reason she should answer that.

The remarks come amid a political slugfest over Mehbooba Mufti’s recent comments that have sparked criticism across the political spectrum in J&K.(GNS)
