Bandipora, Dec 5: District President Bandipora Imtiyaz Parry alongside his associate former MLC Yasir Reshi on Saturday held a public rally here at Naidkhai block ahead of the DDC elections.
The rally which was participated by a significant number of people saw the two leaders jointly campaigning for the nominated candidate Noor Mohammed Butt.
Butt who resigned from National Conference few weeks before has filed his nomination papers to contest the first-of-its-kind DDC elections as Independent candidate.
While talking to media on the occasion, former MLC Yasir Reshi said that the “Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration was nothing but a new tactic to fool the people of Kashmir.”
Addressing an election rally at Gund Jahangir, Reshi said that the people behind PAGD were ‘lying’ to the people in the name of Article 370 when, according to him, “they could not utter a single word in the Parliament.”
Alleging that the PAGD has fielded ‘proxy candidates’, Reshi said that “the alliance (PAGD) has made a mockery of these elections by selecting unworthy proxy candidates.”
“Our manifesto is to usher the whole area towards development”, Reshi added. (KG)
