July 21: As part of the intensified security arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026 (SANJY-2026), Police in Anantnag achieved another significant success during routine checking at Langanbal by apprehending one more individual with the assistance of the Facial Recognition System (FRS) deployed along the Yatra route.

The individual was identified as Danish Amin Reshi son of Mohd Amin Reshi resident of Veersaran. During verification, the Facial Recognition System (FRS) generated an alert indicating his involvement in a previous criminal case.

Upon further verification, it was found that the individual is involved in FIR No. 24/2021 registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) at Police Station Pahalgam.

The accused was immediately taken into custody for further legal proceedings in accordance with the law.

J&K Police continues to employ advanced technological tools, including the Facial Recognition System (FRS), as part of the multi-layered security grid established for SANJY-2026.
