Police in Baramulla have arrested 03 gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession.
Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities in the orchards of Takiya Wagoora, a police party headed by incharge PP Wagoora under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri raided the specific spot and apprehended 03 gamblers & recovered stake money of ₹2490/- & playing cards from their possession. They have been identified as Irfan Ahmad Shah son of Afzal Shah, Yawar Ahmad Shah son of Mushtaq Ahmad & Riyaz Ahmad Shah son of Ghulam Rasool, all residents of Takiya Wagoora. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Kreeri and investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
