Police have arrested 05 gamblers in Kulgam and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession.
Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities in the orchards near railway station Harnag, a police party headed by SHO PS Qaimoh raided the specific spot and apprehended 05 gamblers & recovered stake money of ₹8850/- & playing cards from their possession. They have been identified as Arfaat Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Muhammad Bhat resident of Wanpoh, Mohd Ismail Dar son of Ghulam Muhammad Dar resident of Gassipora Mirbazar, Mohd Ramzan Bhat son of Abdul Majeed Bhat resident of Khudwani, Manzoor Ahmad Lone son of Abdul Rahman Lone resident of Ghat Qaimoh and Abdul Salam Dar son of Mohd Akram Dar resident of Maniward Anantnag. They have been shifted to PS Qaimoh where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Qaimoh and investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
