April 10: Continuing its drive against the menace of drugs and its propagators, Police in Awantipora arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Khrew at a checkpoint established at Khrew intercepted a suspicious person identified as Tariq Ahmad Teeli son of Ali Mohammad Teeli resident of Danak Mohallah Khrew. During search, 54 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and a Case FIR No.27/2025 under relevant section of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Khrew.
Police urge the common masses to share information regarding narcotics or any other crimes to the nearest police establishment or dial 112. General Public is requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per the law.
