September 06: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police in Awantipora have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband from his possession.
A Police team of Police Station Awantipora at a checkpoint arrested a drug peddler identified as Shakeel Ahmad Lone son of Manzoor Ahmad Lone resident of Lethpora. During search, officers were able to recover 2.9 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR Number 188/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been initiated.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
