April 29: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police team of Police Station Pattan headed by SHO Police Station Pattan at a checkpoint established at Kalsari near Grid Station Pattan, intercepted a person identified as Jahangir Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Mohammad Wani resident of Kharnipora Tangmarg. During search 07 Sticks (194 grams) wrapped in maize cortex contraband Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and, a case FIR No. 78/2025 under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Pattan and further investigation has been initiated.

People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
