April 11: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Post Frisal at a checkpoint established at Gundchahal Crossing, Shirpora intercepted a suspicious person. During search, 4.6Kgs of Poppy Straw like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Bilal Ahmad Lone son of Ghulam Hassan Lone resident of Khee Jogipora. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a Case vide FIR No. 28/2025 U/S 8/15 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Yaripora and investigation has been set into motion.
General public is requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling/anti-social activity in their vicinity and extend their cooperation to Police in eradicating the drug menace from the society as drugs are consuming the precious lives and career of our young generation.
