Police in Ganderbal have arrested 04 gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession.
Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities in the orchards of village Serch Bala, a police party headed by SHO PS Ganderbal under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal raided the specific spot and apprehended 04 gamblers & recovered stake money of ₹6500/- & playing cards from their possession.
They have been identified as Javid Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh and Mehraj Ud Din Shoda son of Ghulam Mohammad Shoda both residents of Badergund, Arbaz Ahmad Dar son of Bashir Ahmad Dar & Mehraj Din Bhat son of Mohammad Amin Bhat both residents of Shahpora. They have been shifted to PS where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 32/2024, under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Ganderbal and investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
