Double-storey house and 12 marlas land seized in connection with NDPS case

Srinagar, July 25 (GNS): Continuing its crackdown on drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukti Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police on Saturday attached immovable property worth approximately ₹2.74 crore belonging to a drug accused.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that the attached property includes a double-storeyed residential house along with 12 marlas of land beneath and appurtenant to the house. It belongs to Mubashir Ahmad Hakeem son of Abdul Hamid Hakeem, resident of Awanta Bhawan, Soura, Srinagar.

Officials said the attachment was carried out under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act in connection with FIR No 142/2025 registered under Sections 8 and 22 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Safakadal. The market value of the property has been assessed at approximately ₹2.74 crore.

Srinagar Police said the action reflects its commitment to dismantle the financial infrastructure of drug trafficking networks by targeting assets acquired through illicit proceeds. Such measures are aimed at deterring individuals involved in narcotics-related activities and reinforcing the rule of law.

As part of the 100-day Nasha Mukti J&K Abhiyan, police reiterated their resolve to continue stringent action against drug peddlers.

The public has been urged to support the campaign by sharing any information related to narcotics trafficking with the nearest police station or through official helplines. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential, reads the statement. (GNS)
