June 12: Continuing its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking and its financial networks, Police in Pulwama has attached a single-storey residential house worth ₹15.85 lakh belonging to a drug peddler involved in an NDPS case.

The attached property belongs to Shabir Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam Qadir Khan resident of Karnabal Samboora, Kakapora. During the course of investigation, the property was found to be an illegally acquired asset, raised through proceeds of illicit narcotic trafficking and disproportionate to the known sources of income of the accused.

The action has been taken under the provisions of Sections 68-E and 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985 in connection with FIR No. 38/2024 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of Police Station Kakapora. The attachment forms part of the ongoing efforts of Pulwama Police to target assets created through the proceeds of drug trafficking and dismantle the financial infrastructure sustaining the narcotics trade.

J&K Police remains committed to taking stringent action against drug peddlers and other elements involved in narcotics-related activities. Such measures are aimed at not only bringing offenders to justice but also depriving them of the illegal gains generated through drug trafficking.
