Police busts gambling setup in North Kashmir; Four arrested, Cash seized

April 20: In a swift and well-coordinated action based on credible inputs, Police in Pattan unearthed a gambling setup and apprehended four individuals involved in the illegal activity.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohd Aslam Shah son of Mohd Ismail Shah resident of Malpora, Pattan, Aijaz Ahmad Shah son of Ab Rehman Shah resident of Nehalpora, Pattan, Shabir Ahmad Gojri son of Mohd Subhan Gojri resident of Pattan and Irfan Ahmad Bhat son of Hilal Ahmad Bhat resident of Iqbal Colony, Pattan

During the operation, stake money amounting to ₹10,600/- alongwith playing cards was recovered from the spot. In this regard, a Case FIR No. 83/2026 under Section 13 of the Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Pattan, and investigation has been taken up.

J&K Police reiterate its firm resolve to curb unlawful activities and urges the public to refrain from engaging in such practices. Citizens are encouraged to share any information regarding illegal activities with the Police.
