Pulwama, July 5 : A police head-constable lost his life on Saturday after being hit by a tipper vehicle near CTC Lethpora on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
An official told news agency JKNS that the deceased has been identified as Head Constable Yeshpal Singh, a resident of Jammu, who was posted at CTC Lethpora.
The tipper, bearing registration number JK01Q-2816, struck the constable while he was walking along the road near the camp. He died on the spot, official said.
Police immediately reached the scene and shifted the body to Police Station Awantipora for medico-legal formalities.
Cognizance has been taken and further investigation started. (JKNS)
