Srinagar,Feb 21:Acting swiftly, Srinagar Police have solved a theft case within hours, arresting the accused and recovering stolen property, including cash and copper utensils.

According to the News Agency—Srinagar News Observer (SNO) According to officials, Police Station Lal Bazar received a complaint from Maqsood Ahmed Baba, a resident of Arzan Sahib Sopore, currently living in Jogiwan Lal Bazar. He reported that an unidentified thief had broken into his bread shop in Jogiwan Lal Bazar and stolen ₹34,000 in cash along with copper utensils.

Following the complaint, an FIR (No. 07/2025) was registered, and an investigation was launched. Through prompt efforts and evidence analysis, police apprehended the accused, identified as Asif Majeed Parry from Waltengoo Kund, Kulgam, within hours of the crime.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused had also stolen the DVR of CCTV cameras from a nearby mosque in an attempt to erase evidence. However, police managed to recover ₹33,731 in cash, the stolen DVR from Masjid-e-Rahman, Jogiwan Lal Bazar, and the missing copper utensils.

Authorities have assured that further investigation is underway. Meanwhile, police have urged residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or Dial-112 for immediate assistance.
