Srinagar, Apr 27 : In a strict accountability move, Anantnag Police on Monday suspended an Investigating Officer of Police Station Anantnag for failing to follow mandatory legal procedures during the investigation of a vandalism and assault case involving medical staff.

As per news agency JKNS reads, Anantnag Police has taken strict departmental action against an Investigating Officer (IO) of Police Station Anantnag for failing to adhere to mandatory procedures during investigation. 

A case regarding vandalisation and assault on medical staff was registered at Police Station Anantnag under FIR No. 118/2026. During investigation, four persons were arrested for their involvement in the commission of crime.

 However, the concerned IO failed to fulfill the mandatory requirements of arrest while affecting the arrests of the accused persons.Taking serious note of this procedural lapse, SSP Anantnag Shri Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS placed the IO under suspension.

Anantnag Police reiterates its commitment to uphold due process of law and ensure accountability in all investigations. (JKNS)
