The More You Learn About Islam The More You Fall In Love With It!
Aubaid Ahmed Akhoon

The holy book of Allah Quran, and every word of it is the word of truth and believing in it a part of faith. As Allah Almighty says in the opening verses of the Qur’an that this is the Umm Al-Kitab in which there is no room for doubt. In every age there have been many Pharaohs who tried their best to harm the greatness of the Qur’an, but they did not succeed then and they will not succeed even after because Allah the almighty itself says انِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَ اِِنَّا لَهٗ لَحَفِظُون
“O Beloved! صلى الله عليه وسلم Indeed, We have revealed the Qur’an to you and We protect it from distortion, change, excess and deficiency.”
The Holy Qur’an is a comprehensive book of all the principles and branches of religion and the highest pedestal for humanity to look up to.The Qur’an is a prescription for healing. The Quran in itself is an enlightened leader, a precise balance, a strong preacher, an informed and insightful leader, a light, a strong speaker which separates ‘Haq’ and ‘Batil’ – Truth and Falsehood – and talks eloquently of the mercy of Allah the almighty. The Quan is at the same time a collection of historical, political, military, educational, jurisprudential, ethical, doctrinal, natural, hygienic, industrial, philosophical, literary, mathematical and other sciences and subjects.History has shown that even if anyone tries to extinguish the light of the Qur’an, diminish its excesses, distort or change it or cast any doubt on its characters won’t succeed to make a slight difference. Enemies of Islam and misguided people and their ilks, with recent example of Wasim Rizvi, despite all of their tricks, deceptions and efforts for hundreds of years, have not been able to extinguish the light of the Qur’an in the slightest manner, and there will never be the slightest change in the word of Allah. Nor can be a true muslim skeptical of any of its letters.
There is a very popular saying in Persian
“Dhar Gowhar Shah Daand Ya Bidanadh Jowhari”
”Means the one who knows the value of pearls and diamonds is either a king or a jeweler!
Allah Almighty is the first to compile the Qur’an. As stated in the Quran (Al-Qiyamah 17)
Then We have recited it (from the tongue of Jibreel) then follow what is recited (Al-Qiyamah 18)
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) is the second compiler of the Qur’an. Our beloved Prophet (PBUH) compiled the Qur’anic text on various objects due to the prevailing conditions during those days.
Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (R.A), is the third compiler of the Quran. In the battle of Yamama, when a large number of Holy Quran memorizers and readers were martyred, Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (R.A), on the advice of Hazrat Umar Farooq (R.A), collected the Holy Quran in the form of a book from various objects. Thus Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq became the second person after the Prophet (PBUH) who secured the Quranic text in a written form.Usman Ghani (R.A) became the fourth compiler of the Qur’an. During his caliphate, when the muslims triumphed in several conquests, the speakers of different languages entered the realm of Islam. In order to eliminate the differences within the Ummah, he compiled it in one recitation. The commentary that was written along with the Quran was also abolished. Therefore, he collected the original Qur’an separately from the commentaries. For this reason, he is called Jami-ul-Quran. (Sahih Bukhari, Book of Virtues of Quran, Chapter Collection of Quran)The Quran was reduced to writing on the directions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) himself and different objects were used to meet this purpose. Hazrat Abu Bakr (R.A) ordered to combine all those objects and kept the whole Quranic text in his custody so as to avoid any misplacement of any of the text. In the house of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), there was a collection of complete memoirs of the Holy Quran in which the Quranic Surahs were written separately; So, by the order of Hazrat Abu Bakr, Zayd ibn Thabit collected all the Surahs in one place and tied them all together with one thread.

The method of Zayd ibn Thabit (R.A) in compiling the Qur’an should be well understood. Zaid (R. A) himself was a memorizer of the Qur’an, therefore he could have written the whole Qur’an from his memory. Apart from him, there were hundreds of memorizers at that time. Also, Hazrat Zaid (R. A) could have copied the Holy Qur’an from the complete version of the Holy Qur’an which was written in the time of the Holy Prophet but as a precaution, they did not settle for just one of them; On the contrary, by using all these means at the same time, he did not record any verse in his scriptures until written and oral evidence of its continuity was found. In addition, the verses of the Holy Qur’an which were written under his supervision of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) were preserved and kept in the possession of various companions. Therefore, it was announced that whoever has any verses of the Holy Qur’an written to him should bring them to Hazrat Zayd (Fath al-Bari, Uloom al-Quran).Hazrat Abu Bakar (R. A) himself supervised this work and in this work it is proved from the traditions that Hazrat Abu Bakar (R. A) also engaged Hazrat Umar (R. A) as helper of Hazrat Zaid (R. A), and at the same time Hazrat Umar (R. A) and Hazrat Zaid (R. A) were also ordered to sit at the door of the mosque; then write down the verses of Sahaba who bring to them the copy of the Holy Qur’an with credible witness. Whoever brought the verses of the Holy Quran to Hazrat Zaid, he was mandated to confirm it in four ways:
(1) First of all, he used to confirm it with his memory
(2) Then, as has been written above, Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (RA) had also made Hazrat Umar (RA) his assistant in this work, so Hazrat Umar (RA) also used to check it with his memory.
(3) No written verse was accepted unless two credible witnesses testified that it was written before the Holy Prophet (PBUH)
(4) After this, the written verses were compared with the collections which had been prepared by various Companions. Imam Abu Shama says: “The purpose of this method was to increase the writing of the Holy Qur’an as much as possible. Extreme care was to be taken and instead of just memorizing, it should have been copied from the writings that were written in the presence of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
When the work of compiling the Qur’an was completed with the collective confirmation, the companions consulted among themselves: What name should be given to it? So some of the Companions named it “Safar”; but this name was not passed due to the resemblance of the Jews. In the end, all the Companions agreed on the name “Mushaf”. (Al-Atqan 1/2)From Surah Al-Furqan, the Almighty says: And the Messenger of Allah said: This is the nation that has taken away this Quran. And the Messenger will cry out: O Lord! My people have abandoned this Qur’an.
If this Ummah has been given a priceless book of guidance like the Holy Quran, then it is necessary to give thanks to it. The meaning of thanks giving here is that the rights of the Quran should be paid. The basic rights of the Holy Quran are as follows: Believing in the Qur’an Reading the Qur’an Understanding the Qur’an Practicing the Qur’an Preaching the Qur’an.
The entire month of Ramadan has been attributed to the blessings of the Qur’an, so the divine instruction is; “The month of Ramadan in which the Qur’an is revealed. There is no greater blessing than the Holy Quran which deserves happiness and celebration, that is why Allah Almighty has bestowed upon us all of our happiness. I have associated the blessed month of Ramadan with the Quran.”
I wish! Today, the Muslim Ummah would have realized that the greatest blessing on earth in the form of the Qur’an that has been bestowed upon it.
Reasons for the decline of Muslims
A Hadith is narrated quoting Hazrat Ali in which it is stated that the best medicine for this ummah is the Holy Quran. On the authority of Ali, he said: The Prophet (PBUH) said, “The best medicine is the Qur’an.”
Today, the example of this Ummah has become like that of a thirsty person in whose neighborhood a sweet spring is flowing and instead of taking its benefit, we quench our thirst with dirty water. If we want to look into the reasons for the decline of this Ummah, we will get all the answers from the Holy book of Quran. Therefore, in the Qur’an, Allah says:“Allah Almighty does not change the condition of a nation unless they change their condition by their own will and authority.” Had we been following the tenets of the Holy Quran in letter and spirit, we wouldn’t have for sure found ourselves in this muck. My grandfather” Ahmad Akhoon” who was a very famous religious scholar, sage and businessman of his time used to teach the Qur’an to my father and he used to say that he would not give us anything to eat in the morning until we do not pray and do not recite the Qur’an. I also heard from my kind parents that until very recently, the sound of reciting the Qur’an used to come from every house. It is a different matter that people did not understand it properly, but the recitation would take place anyway. Yes, now there is no recitation, there is no question of contemplation and deliberation, who will learn and who will read? If we have any worldly interest in Arabic we learn otherwise our focus remains always on other languages. If we want to live the life of a Muslim, this is not possible without making the Qur’an a part of our life. Such situations have become our destiny due to not following the teachings of the Qur’an, so we should sincerely seek refuge in the footsteps of the Qur’an again. Without it, no other cure can be effective.
In these circumstances, the real need is to turn to the Qur’an al-Hakim, our destiny will not change, and we will not be able to attain honor and glory until we pay due respect to this Qur’an. Therefore, if there is a ladder, it is the Qur’an. Our destiny is related to this book, if any path is opened, it will be opened through it only.
O God, grant me success day and night
Give me the same fear in your outward and inward,
Give me the love of the Sunnah or the love of the Qur’an
Give me the blessings of light
May the work be my lifelong service to the Qur’an
Give me the understanding of the Qur’an, the light of mysticism
