Srinagar, Apr 28 : One of the three schoolgirls injured in a road accident in Qazigund area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district has succumbed to her injuries at Srinagar hospital, officials said on Tuesday
An official told news agency JKNS, the deceased has been identified as Fatima Jan, daughter of Mohammad Altaf Parray, a resident of Shampora Qazigund.
She had sustained critical injuries along with other two school school girls after being hit by an i20 vehicle at Kulbagh–Qazi Mohalla link road on Monday.
Two other schoolgirls, Tahmeena Jan and Aliya Jan, were also injured in the accident and are undergoing treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable with minor injuries.
Police had earlier registered a case and arrested the accused driver within an hour after he fled from the spot.
Further investigation into the incident is underway. (JKNS)
