Pulwama, June 17: A wild bear mauled a man in the Soinad-Dedarpora area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday, leaving him injured.
The victim has been identified as Zubair Ahmad Gujjar, a resident of Soinad-Dedarpora.
Reports said the bear attacked the man in a field, causing injuries before local residents rushed to his aid.
The injured was subsequently shifted to a hospital for treatment, where he is undergoing medical care.
Locals expressed concern over the growing frequency of such incidents and urged the Wildlife Department to take remedial measures to mitigate the menace and prevent future attacks. [KNT]
