Bandipora, Jul 30: A young woman lost her life after suffering an electric shock at her residence in Ajas area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Wednesday.
Officials confirmed that the deceased has been identified as Jahara Begum, wife of Tariq Ahmad Rather, a resident of Ajas. She was reportedly at home when the fatal accident occurred. Though immediate efforts were made to rescue her, she could not be revived.
While the exact cause and nature of the electric shock remain under investigation, preliminary reports suggest that she may have come in contact with a live wire or faulty appliance inside the house.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further proceedings are underway. [KNT]
