Srinagar, Sep 24: Unpaid claims for work executed under the Jal Jeevan Mission in Jammu and Kashmir have reached about ₹1,346.60 crore, with the government citing funding constraints for delays in clearing the liabilities.
The figure was disclosed by the Jal Shakti Department in response to a question by MLA Bashir Ahmad Shah Veeri in the Legislative Assembly on the status of unpaid work-done claims under the mission.
The government said about ₹400 crore is pending under single-village schemes, ₹500 crore under multi-village schemes and ₹450 crore under retrofitting schemes.
The figures relate to work already executed under the respective components of the Jal Jeevan Mission. [KNT]
