Minor was pregnant involving a teacher; FIR registered, police investigation underway, says an official
Kishtwar, Aug 21: In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old school-going minor girl died while being referred from Kishtwar to Doda for medical treatment related to termination of pregnancy, following which police registered an FIR and arrested a school teacher allegedly linked to the case.
An official told news agency JKNS that the girl, (identity withheld), was a resident of Chatroo, Kishtwar, and was reportedly pregnant involving a school teacher.
The minor was referred from Kishtwar to Doda for treatment related to termination of the pregnancy. However, she died while being shifted to Doda, the official said.
Meanwhile, a police official told JKNS that an FIR has been registered in connection with the matter and the accused teacher has been arrested.
“Further investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy, the girl’s death and other aspects of the case,” the official added. (JKNS)
