Kupwara, Mar 1 (GNS): Two alleged drug peddlers were apprehended by police in Lolab area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said on Tuesday.

Identifying the accused duo as Manzoor Ahmad Ganie son of Gh Mohi Ud Din Ganie, a resident of Devar Lolab and Hilal Ahmad Sheikh son Ab Aziz Sheikh, a resident of Rangward Lalpora, they said a total of 350 grams of cannabis powder was recovered from their possession.

An FIR number 06 and 08 under section 08/20 was subsequently registered in police station Lalpora in the matter, they further said.

A senior police officer has in the meantime also confirmed to GNS about the arrest of alleged duo.

Notably, the district police Kupwara booked two ‘notorious drug peddlers’ under stringent Public Safety Act on Monday. (GNS)
