442 Fresh Covid-19 Cases, 2 Deaths Reported In J&K

Srinagar, April 5 (GNS):  A day recording this year’s highest novel coronavirus cases in a single day, Jammu and Kashmir reported 442 new infections while two persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Monday.  

Among the fresh cases which include 89 travelers, 162 were reported from Jammu Division and 280 from Kashmir valley, taking the overall infection tally to 133454 in the J&K, the officials told GNS. J&K had reported 573 fresh cases on Sunday.

Giving the district-wide details, they said, Srinagar reported 141 cases, Baramulla 47, Budgam 19, Pulwama 2, Kupwara 21, Anantnag 9, Bandipora 11, Ganderbal 6, Kulgam 21, Shopian 3, Jammu 97, Udhampur 14, Rajouri 5, Doda 0, Kathua 8, Samba 2, Kishtwar 1, Poonch 6, Ramban 0 and Reasi 29.

A number of these cases were confirmed at diagnostic laboratories of SKIMS Soura, CD hospital and GMC Anantnag.

The SKIMS cases include male (65) from Fatehpora Ganderbal, female (45) from Batwani Ganderbal, male (33) from Wayil Ganderbal, female (65) and two males (66, 23) from Rajbagh Colony Nagbal Ganderbal, female (47) from Batapora Ganderbal, male (21) from Saloora Ganderbal, two males (13, 13) from Kherigund School Budgam, female (14) from M S Khangripora, male (09) from Alpine School Budgam, male (26) from Power Grid Wagoora Budgam, female (15) from Ggh School Soibugh Budgam, male (45) from Sheikhpora Opp Petrol Pump Budgam, male (23) from Narkara Srg, male (31) from CRPF Humhama Budgam, male (29) from 428 Fd Hosp Vajr Mir Kupwara, male (21) from Bongam Shopian, two females (32, 20) and male (25) from Baghi Srg, female (46) from Alochibagh, male (40) from Nowshera, three males (35, 37, 50) and female (35) from Elahibagh, male (52) from Peerbagh, female (68) from Jawahar Nagar, female (50) from Peerbagh, female (55) from Rainawari, female (33) from Bemina, male (82) from Wagoora Baramulla, female (65) from Kharpora Bandipora, male (71) from Ganika Doda, male (40) from Banihal Ramban, male (18) from Sonwar Rcc Srg and male (72) from Banyari Bandipora.

The CD cases include male (70) and female (40) from Rathsuna, female (35) from Gulabagh, female (60) from Kadlabal Pampore, female (57) from Alochibagh, male (41) from Batmaloo, male (75) from Sumbal, male (50) from Rawalpora, male (40) from Bemina, male (14) from Darmgund, male (13) from Rawalpora, male (40) from Bemina, male (22) from Chattabal, male (65) from Batmaloo, female (20) from Bemina, female (26) and male (28) from Sanat Nagar, female (80) from Shutra Shahi, female (35) from Jawahar Nagar, female (70) from Nawakadal, male (45) from Khanyar, male (35) from Malaratta, female (NA) from HaftChinar, female (42) and male (48) from Rawalpora, female (28) and male (31) from Kawdara, female (36) from Kaksarai, male (57) from Rawalpora, two males (21, 24) from Indra Nagar, male (24) from Mattan Anantnag, female (19) from Baghi Mehtab, male (36) from Zakoora Crossing, male (39) from Peerbagh, two females (59, 29) and male (26) from Hyderpora.

The GMC cases include male (30) from Razloo, male (31) from Sadiwara, female (50) from Kund, female (48) from Devsar, female (50) from Zangalpora, male (32) from Khargund, male (11) (NA) from Aisha Ali academy, male (11) (NA) from Aisha Ali academy, male (11) (NA) from Aisha Ali academy, male (10) (NA) from Aisha Ali academy, male (12) (NA) from Aisha Ali academy, female (10) (NA) from Aisha Ali academy, male (12) (NA) from Aisha Ali academy, female (15) from Pahalgam, female (15) from Ashmuqam, male (18) from Ashmuqam, female (50) from Bus stand Anantnag, male (50) from Bungam kulgam , male (70) from DK Marg kulgam, male (41) from High ground.

Moreover, they said, 241 more COVID-19 patients have recovered—60 from Jammu Division and 181 from Kashmir Division, taking the number of people who have recovered so far 127290.  

There are 4154 active cases—1024 in Jammu and 3130 in Kashmir.  The two persons who died include a 60-year-old man from Kanjigund and a 70-year-old man from Dedipora, both places in Kulgam district of south Kashmir. Their death took the overall fatality count due to covid-19 in J&K to 2010—741 in Jammu and 1269 in Kashmir. (GNS)
