Srinagar: The 5-day training programme for investigators on “Women Safety” sponsored by BPR&D New Delhi concluded on Saturday.
Twenty two (22) Police Officers of the rank of ASI to Dy.SP which include 03 female officers attended the training programme.
The course was designed to accommodate investigation skills and knowledge of latest provisions of law including POCSO, JJ Act, IT Act, etc. To achieve the objective of the training programme, experienced guest speakers including Dr. Kavita Suri, Director, Department of lifelong learning University of Jammu, Ms. Kanika Gupta, JKAS District Social Welfare officer Udhampur, Shri Ashwani Kumar, Sr.PO district Court Reasi, Ms. Anubhuti, Dy.SP, Cyber Police Station Jammu, Dr. Savita Nayyar, Prof. Department of Law, University of Jammu, Sh. Rajesh Bakshi, CPO, Advocate Supriya Chouhan, J&K High Court Jammu, Dr. Aehteshan Hussain, Scientific officer, DNA, FSL J&K and Inspr. Isha Mahajan, SHO Women P/S Udhampur, shared
their wide range of knowledge with the participants on different topics.
Sheikh Zulfkar Azad, JKPS, SSP SKPA was Chief Guest on the occasion of valediction of
the course.
In his valedictory address, he advised the participants to be sensitive towards women victims and adopting guidelines for the purpose laid from time to time.
He further said that the main objective of the course is to enhance the capacity of the investigating officers especially in women related cases.
The valediction was also attended by the faculty of SKPA.
The course was coordinated by Sanjeev Gupta, Inspector assisted ASI Ashok Kumar.
