Anantnag: Jammu and Kashmir PDD casual labourers on Wednesday announced a 72-hour strike over regularization demands.
Amid slogans, the protestors on Thursday assembled on Thursday at PDD office, Sub-Division Bijbehara urging the authorities concerned to a frame regularisation policy for all causal workers, working in the Power Development department for the past over a decade now.
The agitated employees expressed anguish over the ‘false promises’ made to them by successive regimes into their regularization despite their unmatched services to the department even during the recent harsh winter period.
“We urge the higher-ups to consider our genuine demands and regularize us on a priority basis to alleviate our sufferings”, they said.
Despite several attempts, Chief Engineer Kashmir could not be reached for comments on the issues. (KGNN)
