Poonch, May 19: (GNS) Amid ongoing restrictions implemented in wake of Covid scenario, migrant labourers putting up at several places in Mendhar are facing acute shortage of essential commodities.

Several labourers told GNS that since the resurgence of Covid cases and the subsequent lockdown situation, many of them are facing huge difficulties in arranging two times meal properly. “We have literally got stuck inside our rented rooms and with nothing to do are facing all sorts of difficulties”, a non-local labourer said.

Another labourer said that some of them are having other family members alongside including infants, who every now and then crave for milk, however it only is getting difficult with each passing day for them to arrange the things.

Urging the governmental and non-governmental organizations to lend a helping hand to them, the labourers further said that they hope that help will pour in these testing times for them and their families. (GNS)
