Teaching is the profession that creates all other professions!

Seerat Haneef

A teaching profession is not an easy one for it needs continuous hard work, up to date knowledge, dedication, passion, morality, humanity, ethics, consciousness, spirituality, and sober human behaviour. The word teacher in itself means a lot. Usually a word teacher means a person who teaches especially in school but now teachers teach in this pandemic through different means of communication.

The teaching profession is a respected profession. Teachers play a vital role in our lives after our parents. It is our teachers’ who shape our lives by educating us and inculcating good and moral values in us. Teachers are the agents of change. They counsel their students’ and help them to choose their subject that best suits their interest. Teachers can make a good difference among the bright and dull students, that is to say, among those who love to read, write and those who don’t. A good teacher can convert a dull student into a brilliant one. There are many sorts of kinships in the world that connect a person with others, some are blood ties and some however spiritual. One of such relationships’ is the student teacher relationship.

Students’ must understand that if their teachers punish them it is for their own personal growth. The influence of a good teacher can never be erased.

A teacher is a nation builder; he or she builds the character of people and brings people from darkness towards light. Children are said to be like clay and it is a teacher who moulds it in a good shape.

In religion Islam, the student-teacher relationship is equal to that of the parents. It is the teacher who teaches us the meaning of real life.  It is only a teacher who teaches us to live life, teaches us to differentiate between right and wrong. Almighty brings us on the earth but by virtue of a teacher lifts us up in the sky. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that, “I was sent as a teacher…”. This saying only goesonto show us how high the status of a teacher is. Teachers are like parents and must be given the same respect as we give to our parents!

Tailpiece: Without Teacher life would have no class and nevertheless the best teachers educate with their hearts not just with their minds.
