Anantnag, Jul 26: Authorities have on Monday lodged a case against ‘Brengi’ mineral water plant for allegedly dumping waste inside a forest area here in Kokernag.
An official told Kashmir Glory that on receipt of complaints about dumping of waste matter by ‘Brengi’ mineral water plant at Kokernag in nearby forest area, a team was constituted to visit the specified site to ascertain the claims. The visiting team, he said, found a huge amount of waste matter littered around the forest area.
An FIR number 143/2021 under sections 278 IPC and 15 of Environment Protection Act was accordingly registered against the erring mineral water plant and further proceedings set into motion, he further said.
