September 23: In its continued drive against drug trafficking, J&K police have arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance recovered.
During dynamic naka checking on Qazigund–Dalwach Road near Dooru Crossing, NHW 44, police party of police station Qazigund intercepted a Grand i10 bearing registration No. JK01BA-5293, travelling from Jammu towards Qazigund. During checking, 15 grams of Heroin-like substance was recovered from the driver-side door pocket. The driver was identified as Saqib Latief Dagga son of M. Latief Dagga, resident of Maharaj Gunj, Srinagar. In this connection, FIR No. 230/2026 under Sections 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Qazigund, and investigation has been taken up.
