Srinagar, Jul 28: Scores of various degree holders from central-Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday assembled to protest against Higher Education Department for ‘violating’ the court by ‘failing’ to engage them as contractual lecturers.
Talking to Kashmir Glory, the protesting candidates said that despite the Higher Education Department duty bound to implement the court orders to engage them, they are however being negated for no fault of theirs.
From time to time the department of Higher Education Department is altering our nomenclature from contractual to academic arrangement now to need basis, prompting us to approach the honorable high court, they said.
‘It is a sorry state of affairs that our colleagues in the other division of the UT are working smoothly but ours has come in complete disdain to us.’
From August 2019 onwards we are without salaries even when the JK High court/CAT has given the direction to the department that our services should be utilised, however from 2019 till date our services were availed for 9 months only, they said adding that from December 2020 we are still waiting for the utilisation of our services.
“One fails to understand who is teaching in the colleges when teachers are out”, they said.
“From 24th July the department is once again coming in flagrant violation of court orders by appointing new candidates”, they said adding that the higher ups in the department have made a mockery of the whole educational setup.
