Kashmiri Employees Being Fired For Disempowering Locals: Mehbooba

Srinagar, March 30 (GNS): The J&K government on Wednesday dismissed its five more employees from service by invoking Article 311 of the Constitution of India.

In a similar worded order, the employees dismissed include two policemen and a teacher besides a computer operator and a Nursing Orderly.

“The Lieutenant Governor is satisfied after considering the facts and circumstances of the case and on the basis of the information available that the activities of Tawseef Ahmad Mir, Constable in Police Department son of Late Bashir Ahmad Mir of Chakoora, District Pulwama are such as to warrant his dismissal from service,” reads the order, a copy of which lies with GNS, adding, “Lieutenant Governor is satisfied under sub-clause (C) of the proviso to clause (2) of Article 311 of the Constitution of India that in the interest of the security of the State, it is not expedient to hold an enquiry in the case of Tawseef Ahmad Mir.” Accordingly, the Lieutenant Governor dismissed Tawseef from service, with immediate effect.

The other employees dismissed include Shahid Hussain Rather, Constable in the Police Department, son of Wali Mohammad Rather of Khaipora Tangmarg Baramulla; Ghulam Hassan Parray, Computer Operator, son of Late Abdul Rashid Parray of Lawaypora Srinagar; Arshid Ahmad Dass, Teacher in the School Education Department, son of Late Ghulam Nabi Dass of Brah Bandina Awantipora, Pulwama; and  Sharafat Ali Khan, Nursing Orderly in the Health Department, son of Lal Badshah Khan of Keran Payeen District Kupwara.
So far, since May last year the government has sacked nearly three dozen employees invoking the Article 311.

Former chief minister and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti likened it as “disempowering locals”
“On one hand GOI is recruiting retired security personnel from all over India for civilian posts in J&K. But at the same time they are deliberately firing Kashmiri govt employees to offset the balance in the administration & disempowering locals,” Mehbooba said in a tweet.(GNS)
