District Admin Kupwara Extends Vacations for School-going Children & Teachers in Multiple Avalanche-prone Areas

Kupwara: In view of the inclement weather conditions coupled with the avalanche warning by the authorities, the District Administration Kupwara led by Ayushi Sudan on Sunday evening ordered for extension of winter vacations to school-going children till March 5, 2024.

The measure, the district administration, conveyed ials being taken to ensure safety of the students and teachers falling in various avalanche-prone areas.

“Keeping in view the recent heavy snowfall followed by avalanche warning issued by JKDMA and to ensure safety of Students & Teachers, all the schools in the areas of Keran, Budnambal, Jumagund, Kumkadi, Machil and upper reaches of Karnah Sub-Division shall remain closed on 4th & 5th of March-2024,” reads a notification, as per Alfaaz – The Words.

The rest of the schools, as expected, are all set to resume for normal classwork from tomorrow (Monday), March 4, 2024, after the end of winter vacations on March 3, 2024.
